Kalaripayattu

I have posted photos of Kuttu who takes us for yoga first thing in the morning.. well this evening he gave us a demonstration of this traditional Keralan Martial Art .. Kalaripayattu. They demonstrated the amazing flexiblity of the fighters and some of the weapons including what Mr A says would be his weapon of choice if he had to pick one - a 6' long flexible sword! Scary stuff! and impressive and remarkable to see this very different side of Kuttu. Here he is spinning two long poles with huge lit tapers on either end.
