Scenes from The Old Admiralty

A third of the way down Whitehall from Trafalgar Square is the Old Admiralty building. Built in 1788 when Britain was well on the way to ruling the waves, it is fronted by a Robert Adam stone screen complete with seahorses and tableaux of Venus rising from the waves.

Many people pass by leaving it unnoticed but it's worth a close look if you ever come by this way.
