Gone

This image is a record shot illustrating the force of the sea. It deserves no stars for beauty. Many months ago I could walk along this road, past a lifeboat station cum museum, along the cliff top past a caravan site to some metal steps leading down to sea level at the beach.

Look at it now. Behind me out of sight is a "ROAD CLOSED" notice and concrete blocks in the road to prevent any daring characters from approaching by vehicle. The edge of the severed road is really an overhang, the edge is not supported and ominous lines show in the road surface suggesting imminent fracture. So being a cautious (somewhat overweight) old boy I did not venture too close.

I used the widest possible aperture and focussed on the edge to throw distant features out of focus to accentuate and separate the road edge from the background.

For friends outside the UK double yellow lines on a road prohibit parking(!).
