Preening Starlings

Thought I would give the fizzy bubbles a miss for a while. So what to photograph? The shopping …… had to be done? the mouldy yoghourt lurking at the back of the fridge from Christmas? Then the busy starlings came and perched on the telegraph wires chattering and preening before flying off to join their brethren to roost.
I had left the camera on iso 6400 the night before in case the aurora ventured this far south so the photos were very grainy. A tweak here and there produced a silhouette with just a touch of detail.
