I had forgotten what Princes Street looks like on a "normal" Friday night!
"Good morning...it's Friday!!"
and
"How are you?" "Aw you know...it's Friday!"
seemed to be the standard greetings of choice that echoed through the office this morning. And, yes, it is indeed Friday. The end of the first working week of the year (the first full week of the year, come to think of it) and I am so glad to have much to be thankful of.
Arriving back in Edinburgh last week I was a little concerned that I was going to feel something of an anti-climax and a general social lull. Some people were arriving after I had and others were already busy. However! It has turned out to be just perfect. From church family, to sweet friends and newer faces who I am looking forward to getting to know better I am thankful for the people I have been able to spend time with.
As for today, all necessary items (keys...lunch box...marbles) made it to university with me and what followed was a relatively productive day of reading & writing in one of the study carrels. A final session of typing up and I now have 1,000 draft words for my 5,000 word probationary assessment due in May. So that at least is feeling manageable :)
Tonight again I was at the prayer meeting at church, such a wonderful way to start the year.
Time now for rest :)
Edit - just spotted my 'one year ago' blip at the bottom of the page brought a wee smile to my face :)
