Chimney Stack
There was a bit of colour in the sky this morning, so I got an early blip in - takes the pressure off for the rest of the day! Our house has all the bedrooms downstairs and the kitchen and living rooms upstairs, so opening the front room window gave me a good view of the chimney of the house across the street and the ferns growing on it.
Unfortunately, I couldn't go out to take pictures, as I was waiting for the washing machine repair man. Our washing maching is leaking. The engineer came out last week and put some filler on a crack in the drum and it worked quite well for about two days and then leaked again, so we haven't used it since.
The engineer who came this morning said it would need a new drum, which would be quite an expensive repair. The upshot was I got a call later in the morning from Domestic and General with a replacement offer - we get a new washing machine delivered and fitted and the old one taken away for recycling for about £150, rather than the four hundered and something which it would cost if we just went out and bought one.
They can't deliver until Wednesday, so we may have to farm some washing out, or even go to a laundrette until it arrives.
Finished dismantling the garden seat this afternoon. It's probably just as well that it has blown over, as it was so rotten I expect the next time anyone actually sat on it, it would have collapsed!
Another thing missing is the robin which has been following me around the garden. It would appear almost as soon as I went into the garden, but for the last couple of days it hasn't shown up at all. Hopefully it has just moved on, but I suspect one of the local cats has caught it. It's a shame - it means we don't have a resident robin at the moment.
