Happy Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house everyone was up and there was little sleep to be had.

My mum and I went to the watch night service at a church about 20 miles away and welcomed in the Christmas morning with some friends. We then came home and wrapped gifts and stuffed stockings and got to our beds just before 2.

At about half two the middle one woke up and asked if it was morning yet and had Santa been? He was coaxed back to bed, but only with me beside him.he tossed and turned and stayed awake until about half 3.

At around 4.15, the littlest woke up looking for some comfort and or milk and so I went back upstairs and to my own bed and dealt with him. I was asleep again by 4.30

At 5.25 the older two boys woke up asking me if it was morning and if Santa had been. I managed to keep them in bed till nearly 6 and then got them to open a couple of presents and wait. The oldest one found this easier than the overly excited middle boy.

By 7am everyone in the house was up and ready to dig into the stocking.

It as a lovely day filled with fabulous presents, gorgeous food, a short service at church and a wee walk in the park.

All in all a pretty special Christmas.
