Chumming

Today, we had 2 trips out to sea. There were only 2 of us volunteers on the second trip which was hard work but equally good fun.

This is a picture of me doing some chumming. In the bucket is anchovy oil and mashed up tuna. This is poured into the water throughout the trip to create a chum slick to attract the sharks to the boat. Although the chum smells absolutely horrendous when you first start working on the boat, you soon get used to it, which is quite scary!!!!!

Unfortunately, I broke the screen on my camera so I can't actually see what I am taking photos of - I just point and shoot! So there may be some interesting photos to come over the next few weeks until I get the chance to get another camera.......
