Mountains of the Upper Waimakariri

We spent today on the Bealey Spur Track, in Arthurs Pass National Park.

As we climbed up, this was our view at about 900m above sea level.

The Jordan Shingle Fan extends out from the Jordan Valley (out of sight on the left) into the braids of the Waimakariri River.
