Basic Equipment

For a while each morning before Xmas my Teenage son could be heard, 5 minutes before the bus comes, "has anyone seen a pencil" "have you got my pen" "I've lost my ruler can you buy me a new one"

These are basic items of equipment needed for every lesson in school. One of the school rules is that you will arrive on time, prepared with basic equipment for the lesson ahead.

Santa was very kind and brought all sorts and numerous items of basic equipment and so far since going back to school we have not heard the usual above requests for lost items.

Until - this morning. Yes, on a Saturday! " I can't find basic equipment!" "All I want is a basic pencil" "has anyone got a pencil". Only on this ocassion it wasn't my teenage son who wanted the basic equipment - no, it was me. Who was first to oblige my request? Yes my Teenage son.
