Brouhaha at the US Embassy, Delhi

This is an action shot (read blurry) of the US Embassy in New Delhi. It's been at the centre of a row involving India and America recently, regarding the arrest and subsequent return of a consulate official who was accused of breaking the law.

Neither India nor the US have come out of it smelling of roses. But it did give many - including me - the chance to dust off and use a favourite word: brouhaha.

The embassy is one of dozens in Chanyakapuri, the 'embassy district'. There, unlike some other places, the wide lawns are tended and the topiary on the long straight roads is thriving and well-kept all year round. On some summer days people play ultimate frisbee under the cool shade of the trees. But not today.
