SKIDDY
I had this vague plan I would tidy up in the garden today, but watching the birds skid about on the decking during breakfast kinda froze out my enthusiasm for working outdoors. Chaffinches, BTW, skid slightly but manage to retain their dignity. Dunnocks skid several feet at a time, and lose theirs completely (1 dunnock foot = 3 human mm, BTW). Ornithology owes so much to my keen observation.
So instead I cleaned the bird feeders, made a pot of soup, made the bed, dealt with a slew of emails and read a while. I did make it to the end of the garden to pick some cabbage and admire the sun already putting on it's sleepy face already at 2.20 pm. Now considering a wee snooze.
