If you tolerate this...

Went out for a lunch time wander with Mr Fish again today, as is the norm. What wasn't the norm, however, was being accosted by a jobsworth security guard to cease and desist taking photos of private property.

We were on James Craig Walk (sandwiched between Multrees Walk and the St James Centre), wherein I was taking the above photo, when we were told to stop taking photos of the building. Multrees Walk has previous for being a bit of a no-no with photographers, however that's technically different, as it's not a public street. I can understand (although don't necessarily agree with) rent-a-cops prohibiting photography on private property, however when they try to stop you on public land from taking a picture of a building, just because it's privately owned, then that's just a step too far.

StevieFish's polite & firm requests to obtain the name of said guard's manager were met with "You can complain at the customer service desk in the centre" and the guard scurrying off.

Mind you, I can understand it if the management based their "no-photos" policy on the fact that the building is so horribly offensive to the eye that they are simply looking out for the health of the public.

Anyone feel a blip flash-mob coming on?
