I bumped into an old friend.. 'Haskel the Herbalist'.. with his little table of herbal lotions and potions.. i couldn't help smiling at his 'special' section.. which he labeled
'for passions'.. which he told me were quite popular in the winter months.....
Anyway, it was good to see him again.. he has his own practice now & consulting room and prepares his own mixtures. It's been a long hard road for him to get here.. with much suffering along the way.. and he practices modern Herbalism in a way that reminds me of the practitioners of days gone by. Thomas Culpepper.. when he was a wee nipper, ran arround the fields and lanes just 3 miles from here.. no doubt smelling & picking the flowers'n herbs to create his medicines.
