North Pier, Oban, Argyll, Scotland

I finally got away from the garden to go shopping in Oban. The sun was shining on the North Pier where the CalMac ferry Loch Riddon and the Norwegian fish carrier Ronja Pioneer, from Aalesund, were neighbours. In the background to the left is the small island of Kerrera and to the right, the Isle of Mull. The spiky plant in the right foreground is Cordyline australis, the cabbage tree from New Zealand, generally hardy in Oban.
