Spawning Salmon

This sculpture is located next to the weir at Wetherby.

It was created by local artist Michael Liesener in 2000, and was the winner of competition to celebrate the new millennium.

It was originally planned to display it in a new gardens in the town and it was put next to the weir as a temporary measure - but it has remained as a permanent fixture - which to me seems a more appropriate location than in a garden!
