Vianden

Visit to my Dad in the Care Home in Vianden with my sister. Dad was happy to see us. We talked a while, drank coffee and a beer (;) ), and we ate a piece of lovely cheese cake. And we played dice games! Dad lost a lot of his cognitive competence, but NOT this admirable ease with numbers. He felt so happy to add up the diced numbers and determine who won and who lost.

We had a good time together and when we left, he went back to the group of the residents with some nice memories (so we hope...).

On my way home, I stopped and took this picture.
Vianden Castle,
located in Vianden in the north of Luxembourg, is one of the largest fortified castles west of the Rhine. With origins dating from the 10th century, the castle was built in the Romanesque style from the 11th to 14th centuries. (Wikipedia)
