In London and my route took me through some of those areas full of glass and steel. Proud companies making money.

Their upbeat signs jarred a bit for me: CEO challenges ticked off, targets met, promises to be the biggest and the best.

But peering through the glass I also saw pressure, insecurity, a new-start clutching a pad in sweaty hands and an already crumpled suit.

It's a complicated world.
