Auld Lang Syne

First fuull day in Skye today. We headed west and visited the Talisker distillery, RH's first visit to one, after a nice lunch in the pub across the road.

When we got there the shop was in darkness as they were having an electrical problem so we got our tour and taster for free - but made a donation to the Portree lifeboat. Very interesting, RH not so fussed about the taster!
We drove north to visit Dunvegan Castle and stopped off by the side of the road to snap this view overlooking Loch Harport. Dunvegan was shut for the season and we couldn't even get close so we drove back to the cottage to prepare for the evening's celebrations.
Had a lovely meal at the Cuillin Hills Hotel where RH struggled to make a dent in the main course after a very large and filling starter, we went to the Isles pub in wet and windy Portree for some drinks.
We saw in the bells outside in Somerled Square with a pipe band before heading back inside to the warmth until the wee hours.
