Cuckoo.....

A Channel Billed Cuckoo....
This is one of 2 babies turning up at 5 pm every evening lately....
They're being fed by a pair of Currawongs ,who are about a third of their size...and running ragged....
On a branch higher up not far away,is one of the cuckoo parents,letting the host birds do all the work ...
In a week or two they'll be strong enough to fly the long journey across the Torres Strait,towards New Guinea and Indonesia....

Quite the arrangement..
