Greens

i started off the day by weeding the garden, but had to stop a bit to get lunch on - now i can partially see the spinach, lettuce, chard, sow thistle, parsley, onion, mallow and celery that was being towered by the nettles, chickweed (both edible themselves) and what not - it's been a very wet winter in crete, and at least three weeks went by without sunshine (it was cloudy)

when i went back to the garden, my 90-year-old mother-in-law seemed to have picked up where i left off - she then told me how to do the job better, but i carried on doing it the way i was doing it before (if you don't just keep calm and carry on, you could easily end up giving up and blaming everyone else for that)

sometimes, the things that keep these old people going can easily get them into the deepest trouble - i now have to sneak a watch over her just in case...
