Full of cold and "more milk, Mommy"...

Eva has got such an awful cold, poor thing. A sure sign that she's started nursery, all the germs a'flowing. We've spent today constantly wiping her nose and she has a nasty cough too. She didn't sleep great last night either. She did sleep, just woke up a few times and took a while (and lots of milk) to settle back down each time.

Eva didn't really eat much today, despite me trying her with different things throughout the day. All she wanted was milk, milk and more milk. I made her cheese on toast, defrosted some shepherds pie I'd cooked in the week, made toast, baby cereal, she did eat a few breadsticks and raisins, but all she really wanted was milk. I think on top of her stinking cold, her teeth are also giving her a bit of gyp.

Considering how rubbish she must feel, she has been so cheerful when she's been up today. Playing with her toys, bobbing up and down to the music on the telly having a little dance, and when we went shopping, she sat good as gold in the blue seat attached to the shopping trolley for the first time (she usually just sits in her car seat) and was dangling her little legs over the side of it, and just taking in the surroundings proper 'chilled'. She's so comical. Mike took today's pic of her sat in the shopping trolley, I love it.

She did have a good sleep during the day today, from 12.30 til nearly 3pm, which she obviously needed from not having a great night sleep the night before.

Eva went to bed at her usual time, but again, took several attempts to get her to settle. She would only be comforted by more and more milk. I thought at one point, "how much milk can you even fit in your tummy?" Every time I tried to put her to bed she would cry and get all agitated, and the only things she wanted to do was either snuggle her head into my shoulder as I held her in my arms, or have more milk.

I broke the cardinal rule at around 11pm when she'd woken up again, and brought her downstairs to snuggle on my lap, as I thought she obviously just wants cuddles, but I was watching a film with Mike (Elysium) and he'd already paused it about 4 times while I went up, so I brought her downstairs (naughty Mommy). She did eventually go to sleep around 1am after a wet nappy change, lots of snuggles and yet more milk. Xxx
