Went for our usual walk when the sun shines, while crossing the railway I took a photo of where we had been, back to Geldern. The buildings on the right are the old Crossing Keepers house and the now unused Signal Box. ( All Automatic now) DB are selling both together, by Auction. The house comes with a garden measuring 1,400 sq metres which is now a Wilderness. Starting Price will be 18K€ big property, lots of potential, just in the wrong place!
The projection just on the left and right of the Track are the remains of an old Railway Bridge, the line , known as the "Köln-Minderbahn" ran from Cologne to Minden. Was seriously damaged in the closeing stages of the War and was never repaired although the lines remained until the early 80s. It is now a woodland walk.
