New life on a dull day

A dull, flat day with a certain lack of inspiration, which reminds me of the way Sunday's always felt when I was small.

Despite being out and about earlier in the day I didn't get the camera out once so was left wandering the garden this afternoon. Luckily I came across some signs of new life appearing on a bush and took some photos of the tiny buds just opening.

In the end I chose this shot as it had the best view of the veins running through the leaf and they came out best when I adjusted the picture away from the rather flat colour version.
