On the shoulders of giants

This stained glass window is one of several in my church. I have been a member of this church for about 25 years, but have never really taken the time to look at the windows! I wonder whether we often don't see the beauty right in front of us.

This morning for a few moments I gazed at it, a picture of Saint Catherine. I managed to see it over the heads of the 400+ people (mostly aged under 35) in the service. It seemed to represent a link between those today trying to live lives of faith and help others and those who have done so in the past. As I think Isaac Newton said, 'we stand on the shoulders of giants,'
