Thorin II Oakenshield, son of Thráin, son of Thrór

After seeing The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, this is the picture I wanted to take last week. It is a carving on my local church but made me think of dwarven craftsmanship

The Misty Mountain

Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away ere break of day,
To see the pale enchanted gold.

The dwarves of yore made mighty spells,
While hammers fell like ringing bells
In places deep, where dark things sleep,
In hollow halls beneath the fells.
