What is Church For?

This has just appeared on my kitchen windowsill from some pots I bought reduced at M&S - a surprise, and seems to sum up today, which is renewal Sunday in our church - where we stop and think again about why we do what we do, and evaluate whether we are fulfilling our purpose.

The question is: Is church a club for Christians (in which case, we fulfil our purpose if we like what goes on), OR is it to reach out to hurting people and give them a hand like Jesus did to us (in which case, we'd measure success otherwise)??

Believer or unbeliever, what do you think? I'd love to know.
