Window on the World
Ski Touring today on a glorious, cloudless day in the Glarus mountains which are not far from our home in northern Switzerland, The seeming triangular patch of snow on the left hand side of the shot is actually a gigantic, natural hole in the hillside and is apparently quite famous in Switzerland. On one day a year the sun rises and shines through the hole and strikes the church in the village of Elbe, way down at the bottom of the steep sided valley. The siteing of the ancient church can not be an accident.
On a different note, please, please let it snow soon, conditions are getting a little thin.
