Rays of sunshine
Another leisurely start to the day. This one extra day off is so needed and welcome! Finally saw Pauline today - first time this year. She seemed well and happy especially with possible changes at work.
Needed to do a small shop but I wanted a drive out as we haven't done that since getting back - so headed a bit aimlessly out towards the E77 desert. A sign to the recently opened (October 2013) new international airport which is placed in the middle of nowhere - as airports are. We found it after what seemed like an age and as there was not much going on, G said she wanted a coffee for the effort, so we parked up (for free) in front of arrivals and walked in to a brand spanking new terminal with not a single passenger in it. It had a Starbucks though which was - OPEN!! There was a TV screen advertising 5 arrivals from 21:00 to 00:45 - one of which was cancelled. We were there at 2pm.
We had a long chat with the supervisor of the branch. The airport IS new and I should imagine with the current airport in town, no-one (passengers especially) is in a hurry to use this new one. The Starbucks branch however is 24 hours (yes!) and the guy told us about the challenges of staff getting to/from work. They are after all - around 60kms out of the City! All I can say is I am SO THANKFUL that I am still in the position where I can make choices which don't have to involve 3-4 hour commutes.
Drove back into town to where we wanted to do our shop except it was so busy - we couldn't even get parked, so decided to call into nearby ACE Hardware instead where ta da - G has got herself some bougainvillea to put on her balcony! And that's where this picture comes in - taken on the way home by G as I was driving - so due credit to her.
Back to work tomorrow... two short weeks after two weeks off - Life is really grand! God is REALLY GOOD! :)
