Winter Warbler
I can't pass up a chance to blip a warbler, and certainly not one that is visiting the Bistro in the middle of January! The Yell0w-rumped Warbler (Setophaga coronata) is the only one of the warblers that sometimes overwinters in northern NJ. They breed far north, and show up in larger numbers here in the fall, most on their way to the southern US, Mexico and Central America. And a few sometimes stay here all winter, as this one apparently has.
They are somewhat more adaptable than some of the insectivore warblers in that they'll eat berries in the winter, as well as suet (sometimes). And they always appreciate a source of fresh, ice free water, which we feature here at the Bistro!
Anyway, I thought that you deserved something delicate, tiny, and beautiful after yesterday's not-very-popular Black Vulture. :) I also posted

It's a bit gloomy out today, and much cooler than yesterday, but still much better than it was a week ago. That said, I'm definitely in the mood for spring...
Happy Sunday.
