Goodbye and hello

Today all Carrefour shops stopped using plastic carrier bags. I've not used carrier bags for ages I've used the eco friendly ones, I think it came as a shock to some customers when they got to the till and found out that they had to purchase the eco ones but at 50c a bag its not an exorbitant charge. Although I would have thought that they could have afforded to give everyone at least one bag free as a gesture. Its a positive move towards a greener environment.

Spain takes its recycling quite seriously, dotted about urbanisations there are different coloured bins, blue ones for paper and cardboard, green ones for bottles and yellow ones for plastic and it is surprising how quickly they get filled and more importantly emptied.
