Red sky in the morning,
didn't lead to shepherds' warning. It was a frosty morning in Edinburgh, followed by a spectacular sunrise. Instead of a deterioration to rain by late morning, it stayed fine and dry through the day. We went to Greenhead Moss near Wishaw for orienteering today. The map wasn't promising, but the area was quite good, albeit favouring the track runners. It's an area of old mining, so has large depressions with lochans, lots of bird and animal life too. Any other day and the blip would have been from there, rather than the sunrise in the street.
