We was robbed

Went to the match today. Newcastle at home to Manchester City. We were beaten by 2 goals to Nil. I wanted an exciting match and this WAS an exciting match.

Man City got a goal after only 8 mins. Newcastle got a goal at 34 mins. A great goal by Cheick Tiote. Except it was disallowed. Offside. Uproar. Newcastle players, Manager and supporters were vocal in their disagreement with this decision. The officials concerned - the referee and linesman - were booed and called all sorts by the crowd. None of the crucial decisions went Newcastle's way today. There was 7 mins added time and to add insult to injury Man City scored again on 94 mins.

Apart from the football we had a one man pitch invasion. A chap wearing a coat - unfastened, a bobble hat and a mankini ran onto the pitch and had to be removed by security staff. Fortunately I didn't mange to get a photo of him - you had a lucky escape there. It was not a pretty sight. ( In case you don't know what a mankini is look HERE )

My blip shows the referee and linesman who were involved in the dubious offside decision. Smiling before kick off - they weren't smiling at the end of the match.

After the match I popped into Waitrose and got home around 5.30pm. Neil was home soon after - glad he had a shorter shift today. He had a meal and went straight to bed. His jet lag and general exhaustion will take a few days to wear off.

Going to watch Match of The Day now - I'm a glutton for punishment.
