MrsCyclops and I haven't really thought much about having a baby - she's been so unwell due to pregnancy that we've been a bit focussed on getting through the days rather than what happens in six months!

She seems to be a little better on the newest tablets, and today we made it out to have a look a baby things in John Lewis. It's amazing how strongly gender targeted it all is - either completely pink and frilly or blue and covered in cars and trains. It's a bit disappointing really. Neither of us really likes such powerful gender stereotyping.

Afterwards we went to see "12 years a slave" at the cinema. It's powerful and interesting, but I thought it was a bit slow and I couldn't say I liked it. It all seemed so utterly hopeless, with so little redeeming humanity or spirit.
