AGAINST THE RISING MOON

Around 3:30 pm, the snow geese begin winging their way to the ponds for the night, flying over the corn fields in flocks of 10-30.

But tonight is different because both the moon and the sun look down on Bosque. A few of the flocks veer away from the direct route. Choosing to fly higher and higher until their gentle feathers must surely caress the moon. Then they drop down again to join the others.

--- Luckily, I clicked at the right time with the right shutter speed (no photoshopping). In the past I've blurred the moon or the birds.
