On tenterhooks

Son2 accidentally shrank his favourite wool sweater in the wash (even though he used a low temperature setting.)
We devised this method of stretching it back to size using a heavy object (actually a 1.25 kg weight found in on the beach in Crete many years ago, and since used as a doorstop).
The tactic seems to have worked. Disaster averted!
