Conference!

So finally met my roommate Calvin (or Calvan as his misspelt name tag said). A less than ceremonious meeting as I was locked in our bathroom as the handle was not connected to the lock. Luckily he was in and managed to slide a credit card between the door to let me out. Nice guy, he is also a newbie so we are in the same boat.

The day started with registration and then a general session where as we entered the room we were met with an honor guard of the CEO, SVP's and president of the company. They went through the "state of the union" and prospects for 2014. All very pleasant and welcoming. Then we had break outs into out individual segments and focussed more specifically on our segments goals for 2014.

Then in the evening we had the supplier awards ceremony and dinner. In the ballroom we had ping pong, fussball, air hockey and pool tables. Free bar and plenty of food.

Met a lot of people and everyone very approachable. Tomorrow is more meetings, vendor fairs and then an evening in universal studios where as a new hire I have "VIP" status!
