Gold crest
Along with the camera, 2nd lens, tripod, an old stool and warm clothes I set up camp in the door way of the poly tunnel to try and capture a better shot of the gold crest. I have noticed it flies off for a few minutes returns to the golden bush, onto the seaweed and then onto the low lying branches of a large conifer, my aim was to capture it on the seaweed.
What a difference a tripod makes. The shots didn't turn out well, but the time out there was rewarded by following fascinating antics of coaltits, a tree creeper and the lovely gold crest. I was quite pleased when it started to rain, it was cold but wonderful to have a purpose to stand and watch the bird life. (And I will add to have the time). There are many coal tits in the garden, we watch them and their lovely poses of hanging upside down on the lichen, running up the tree trunk like a tree creeper and have decided they must be the comic in bird land.
If you go large you can see his yellow wellies
