Pier

It was a perfect crisp, sunny winters day today, so G, Mum and I packed picnics and went and parked up on the seafront and had a walk from Holland on Sea to Clacton. We went on the pier, and they are refurbishing sections of it; including this old pool, which in the late 70s/early 80s unbelievably housed a Killer Whale, Dolphins, Sealions and Penguins. Before that date, it was an Olympic sized swimming pool, which would have been amazing! There's a great website with archive photographs documenting it's previous uses. Noone ever believes me when I tell them about the Whales and Dolphins of Clacton! After our picnic we went along to the bargain cinema and watched The Railway Man, which I enjoyed so much more than American Hustle.
