Amethyst

Paper work! No the amethyst isn't paper work,the paper work is what has been going on all day. I have been ploughing through seventy proposed conference motions ready for a meeting tonight.

Clickychick has also had mountains of paper work she has been ploughing through.

As a result any shots had to in or near home. My first idea was drops of water on the twigs of the trees in the garden. Great idea lots of shiny drops and a nice sunny morning. Should be easy - wrong! Little or no closeup practice meant focusing problems. Clumsiness meant carrying the tripod to set up removed a number of the best possible drops and sods law meant that was when the wind sprang up.

So back inside and look for something to take shots of. This time it was the Amethyst "cathedral" siting on the hearth bothering nobody. So here it is, I should point out the little white dots which you don't normally notice are tiny crystals growing on the larger Amethyst crystals.
