Founder's Day

Liverpool College holds this event at the Anglican Cathedral every year. Deadly dull but the gothic architecture is magnificent. I've now spent 23 years as a parent of children at that school, which means endless founder's days, Speech Nights, carol concerts, nativity plays, field days, sports days, open days, performing arts and singing exam spectating, parents evenings, careers evenings, ucas guidance evenings, bonfire nights, pta meetings, halloween fundraisers, summer barbecues, displays of work....

#4 offspring is now in his final year in 6th form, so all that will come to an end in 2010. That will be a relief in many ways but also as sad a day as the one all those years ago when I took #1 there at the age of 6 and left him looking all forlorn in his oversized uniform and shiny new shoes....
