Hop tea
It was idle speculation that there must have been a time when beer wasn't boiled. The thinking was that cider isn't boiled and wine isn't boiled. Steeping grains in hot water might be more efficient but that's maybe an invention of commercial brewers but it's conceivable that grains could be mashed cold. Maybe this was the approach taken to early beer, at least until the benefits of hops were discovered / introduced and that boiling is necessary to extract the bitter oils from hops. So, we're having an experiment. Cold worts from yesterday's beer-making, which I'm going to boil for 10 minutes just because it's been sitting warm since yesterday potentially providing a nice breeding ground for bugs, and hop "tea". Let's see what happens.
