Jacarandas

This blip will surely appeal to M (the other half of MissU2) as well as Chiaroscuro (~beautifulblue), CHALLENGEand SUBSTANCE, seeing that all of them lived in the 'Jacaranda City' for many years!! And all of them are vérrry far from here now! M is in Sweden, beautifulblue and CHALLENGE in Australia, and SUBSTANCE in the USA!

Today our local radio station, Radio Jacaranda invited students to meet them under the Jacaranda trees in Pretoria! The couple who were kissing while a Jacaranda blossom fell on their heads were to win a big price! I haven't heard the outcome of the programme yet, will tell you tomorrow! ;-)

I love the purple blossoms this time of the year! They bloom but no leaves are to be seen before the flowers fell off! They grow into huge trees, the one in this pic is so big, it encloses a whole farm house!
