First glimpse of the Aurora Borealis, Iceland
I'm a bit behind with my blipping. Yesterdays ( Fridays) shot was my best one of the Aurora and I was so excited when I saw it in the computer that I just had to blip it! This shot was taken at the first stop of our aurora tour about 10.30 pm on the Thursday. The guide said the aurora should be there and we all looked. Being an obligate blipper I liked the scenery anyway and took some long exposure shots of the snowy mountains. When I got this back to the uk and on a big screen I saw that I had indeed caught the beginning of our aurora show though I didn't realise it. You can definitely see the greenish haze in the sky.
I have really got into long exposure night shots and will be experimenting with this further.
So to me this is a special shot. First proper Aurora :-)
