Clanton Water Tower

Guess what they grow in Clanton? Saw this just as we hit the road this morning and since we had to stop for gas anyway we got off the inter-state at the Clanton exit so I could snap this shot. Smartypants (my cell phone) was called upon one more time to do blip-pic duties and he's starting to develope an attitude.

The rest of the day we drove down Alabama past exit signs for some of the proudest and saddest places in the history of the civil rights struggles in this counry. Cotton fields and shotgun shacks. Tuskeegee, Montgomery, Selma, Birmingham, Rosa Parks and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr ... we've come so far, but there's still so far to go. Had a low energy day so Connie drove most of the way while I sat and watched time roll by and thought about stuff.

We're in Tallahassee Florida tonight, home of the 2013 National Champion USF football team, and will be back home tomorrow ..... and the adventure continues.
