Stone Knobs

I spent the day in front of the computer looking at hardware for the bathroom vanity. Choosing all the components needed for a bathroom--wall tile, flooring, counters, "accessories"--from small samples or, worse yet, photos on a computer, is a bit crazy making and definitely negated whatever progress I made with Kathy my Pilates trainer this morning. I'm quite tempted by knobs that look like rocks and pulls that look like twigs, perhaps just because, unlike shower heads, they are visually interesting

It seems that everyone has had a frustrating day of wheel spinning without accomplishing much. The tile guys finished as much as they could before someone comes to measure for the vanity top. David, who had also had a frustrating day, came by just in time to remove two rows of tile that shouldn't have been there.

We managed to rescue the day by going out to dinner at our favorite place, where we sit at the bar and our favorite bartender always remembers us. A couple of glasses of wine and a comfort dinner of bucatini and meatballs went a long way toward restoring our equilibrium. Tomorrow is another day and I'm excited about getting my hair cut! A year of growing it out has not been successful….
