Lake Coniston Steam Gondola

Misty start. We walked about 2 miles down the Lakeside and caught a little boat back. Not this steam gondola but a similar one that is electric.

This is the Lake on which Donald Campbell made the water speed record of 300mph+ and died in the process in 1967. I remember it being on the news. I was 10 years old.

It was much more sedate today.
