A Commons occurrence

On arrival at work this morning, three things awaited me: A parcel containing an alarm clock I bought for the children's bedroom and these; two letters from The House of Commons.

As it's not mail one receives daily, there is a little excitement to seeing these on the post pile early on a Monday.

The excitement was almost immediately removed when I opened the first of them to discover it was an invitation from our local MP, Amber Rudd to a business breakfast being held locally.

The second gave a little of that back: An invitation to a business breakfast event being held by our local MP at the House of Commons. Having visited and dined at the House of Lords already, this would rather complete the set: invitation accepted, Amber. Thank you!

Aside from the contents of these two invitations, I was actually grateful that they knew where to find me: It gives me hope that the CBE, MBE or Knighthood might find me when they decide to dish it out!
