sunshine studying

It's sunshine's turn at the second language homework - he's studying for his weekly spelling test. Note the difference in posture between the daughter (yesterday's blip - properly seated at her desk) and sunshine (lounging on the sofa). I think it reflects the difference in their personalities. She's more responsible and mature, he's still happy go lucky when it comes to school work.

Another reason for blipping sunshine - I heard late last night that a good friend had just lost her son, and I wanted to be thankful that I still have my two kids. My friend's son had been born with severe disabilities and a rare medical condition. His doctors said he would be lucky to survive to age three. He exceeded all their expectations and lived to be a teenager. I can't imagine the pain that my friend and her husband are going through now with the loss of their son.
