Aurigny Trislander
We have our own little airline in Guernsey called Aurigny, part of their operation is with inter-island flights with the other channel islands of Jersey and Alderney with tri motor aircraft called Trislanders. They are a stretch version of the original Britton Norman Islander. The powers that be in Aurigny are looking to phase out theses Trislanders later on this year I believe. There is one famous Trislander with the registration G-Joey and this aircraft has a string of childrens books written about its adventures. So strong is the following of this particular plane locally it has its own facebook page called "save joey". These aircraft are a unique experience to fly in, I think you either love them or hate them, with the draughty doors (in flight) single pilot, fly in all weathers (almost) experience, totally unpressurised and noisy. I will be sad to see them go and it would be good to keep Joey in an airworthy condition. This picture isnt of Joey but it is the same type of aircraft taken on final approach to Guernsey airport this morning. Long live the Trislander
